Apple Spiced Ginger Ale

It is almost New Year's and while Christmas is long gone the seasonal tastes are still here. I honestly can't get enough cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice... the works! This drink is perfect. It is also a great non-alcoholic drink for New Year's. Trust me... if you have someone coming over who doesn't want to drink, this will satisfy them completely. I've already had one. Okay... two.  :-)

Apple Ginger
Yield: 4 drinks
Total time: 5 minutes

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups ginger ale
  • 4 1/2 cups apple cider
  • ice cubes
  • 1 apple (I used a Braeburn; for garnish)
Place 3 - 4 ice cubes in each tall glass. Divide the apple cider evenly among each. Top each glass off with the ginger ale. Cut an apple into thin slices and make a slit halfway down the middle. Garnish each glass with one.

** If you are wanting to make this into an alcoholic beverage, you could add some spiced rum. I would add 1 shot for a light cocktail or 2 to really have some fun.

Enjoy responsibly!
